It draws on concepts from social psychology, sociology, and political science, applying the modell for acculturation by Berry and methods of current social psychological participation research.

Olga Grabow (born Kowalewskaya) was born and raised in Grodno, Belarus. She emigrated to Germany in 2002, studied Psychology at the Universities of Grodno and Kiel and received her PhD in 2012 from the latter with this thesis.
