MUSE, ÉTRANGÈRE.
[The Foreign Muse. Poetic Anthology of French Europe (18th Century).]
This anthology artfully assembles French poems written in the 18th century by non-native speakers, among them Frederick the Great, Prince Charles-Joseph de Ligne, Isabelle der Charrière, Antoine Hamilton, François Hartig, Jean Fekete de Galata, Prince Antiochus Cantemir, Sigismond-Louis de Lerber, Frédéric von der Trenck, Vassili Trédiakovsky, Stefano Zannowich, James Rutlidge, Prince Alexandre Béloselsky, and George-Louis von Bar. Each of these „poets“ is introduced with an essay by Alexis Léonas. The book contains an audio CD with a collection of the poems read by the actor Daniel le Roy and three piano sonatas written by Isabelle de Charriére interpreted by Soma Dinnyés.
